Winter-Spring 2010 -

Urges you to write a short letter in support of "critical habitat"
for threatened bull trout, reports on broad-based opposition to
Senator Tester's wildlands logging bill, reports on the absurdity of
late-season snowmobiling on the Flathead National Forest, and
provides a "clip and carry" card to help you report motor vehicle
abuses of public lands!

Holidays 2009 - Finds rays of hope in these economic hard times, reports on increased funding for Forest Service road reclamation, gives historical perspective for the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act, illustrates with maps the importance of wildlands to wildlife conservation, and provides several ways for you to support our nonprofit work through a donation today!

Fall 2009 - Announces our 25th annual membership meeting and potluck November 8; reports on our deliberate choices of media; tells how our lawsuits continue to secure quiet habitat for fish, wildlife and people; reports on the winners of our Celebrating the Swan Range photo contest; and announces Cinnabar Foundation will once again double your donation!

Summer 2009

Previews our "Celebrating the Swan Range!" Photo Exhibit, reports on two important decisions securing portions of the Swan Range from motorcycle and snowmobile intrusions, and contrasts Tester's Wildlands Logging Bill with the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act!

Winter-Spring 2009 Special 25th Anniversary Issue Includes a chronology of our 25 years of accomplishments, the 3 guiding principles that bind them all together, and several ways you can join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary!"

Holidays 2008 - We discuss the art of Receiving Humbly and Giving Generously by firstly providing the late Clif Merritt's recounting of
his success in leading a 15-year effort to get Jewel Basin designated
a Hiking Area. We then recap our efforts over the past 24 years to
protect and secure Wilderness designation for Jewel Basin and other
equally deserving portions of the Swan Range and provide several ways
folks can help support our work, including by giving Gift Memberships
to Swan View Coalition!

Fall 2008  - As we announce our annual membership meeting for November 9, Swan View takes a look at how we can all pull together during even economic hard times to remain generous in our protection of people, water, fish and wildlife. Positive local examples of cooperation between private, county, state and federal entities are presented, along with an opportunity for donors to automatically double their donation via a generous matching grant from Cinnabar Foundation.

Spring and Summer 2008 - Our lawsuits continue to help protect old-growth forests and wildlife habitat security, with a federal judge recently banning late-spring snowmobiling on the Flathead National Forest. Make the "Swan Trek Bet," a fun way to help support our work while staying fit and learning more about the natural and cultural history of the Swan Range.

Winter 2008 Special Issue and Call to Action: Securing Quiet Habitat for Fish, Wildlife, and Humans!  This issue provides a primer on our efforts to reduced the number of roads and motor vehicles on the Flathead National Forest. It then asks you to write a short email or letter to help our efforts securing quiet habitat for fish, wildlife and humans.

Fall and Holidays 2007 Almost 25 years ago, Swan View Coalition formed as a conservation nonprofit to put an end to the kind of destructive nonsense pictured below. As we approach our 25th anniversary, we continue the battle and prepare for the next 25 years.
